Larch wood flooring

I need to replace original pine floorboards I would have rather kept, and I'm considering larch wood as an option as - from what I've seen - it looks like a close match to the original pine floorboards while being hardier and more water-resistant. It doesn't seem to be very commonly used for flooring though, and I was wondering if anyone here has any experience with it?

We had a engineered larch floor in a house with a lot of pine. I loved it but it didn't wear well, definitely softer than oak. I remember skidding on a piece of Duplo and it made a huge gouge. The high wear areas eventually got quite battered. To be fair we could have re-sanded but moved before getting round to it. I think I'd go for a suitably rustic Oak another time.
