Vinyl wrapping a worktop

We have very little budget to spruce up our house so have been looking into vinyl wrapping our kitchen worktop. Has anybody tried this? I flit between thinking it’s a great idea or that it’ll be a nightmare to do, will look rubbish and won’t last!

Similarly, is painting the kitchen tiles a naff idea? I’ve watched some YouTube videos but it’s really hard to tell what the finish will be like and whether it’s very durable.

We wrapped ours in sticky back plastic and it looks brilliant and has lasted for 2 years now (military quarter so we can only do changes that are non permanent).

Bump as i may soon be in similar situation. Have you looked into peel and stick tiles? Do you think it would work over old tiles?

Vinyl wrap is not durable.

Replacement worktop is cheaper than you think, and can be easy to fit if the old one was screwed into place from underneath, or if you don't mind wrecking it as you cut it away.
