Buying process

Hi, my partner and I are looking to buy our first home. It’s a new build and we are FTB’s so no chain. Offer has been accepted, have a mortgage in principle. Was wondering whether anyone could advise how long the process will take? I know it’s probably a “how long is a piece of string?”question but we’re both nervous/excited... Also, everything is being done in house with the agents (solicitor/mortgage etc.)

Sadly it truly is 'how long is a piece of string'.

Is your new build built?

Congratulations on having your offer accepted, it IS exciting!

It’s a converted place but classified as a new build

Oh misread! It’s all ready to be moved in

It takes twice as long as you think it will, even if it seems super straight forward with no chain.

Ahh @mn81987, we were hoping for around 4 months😳

Mine took 6 and I was buying the house I already lived in from my Dad.

Your solicitor is the best person to answer this.
