My mum is in her 80s and has owned a tenanted house (students) for over 30 years.
There's been a fire recently, (just in 1 room but whole house affected with smoke smell) and thanks goodness she's covered with insurance. But co-ordinating all the quotes / work is a massive job. I can help but am a 2 hour drive away so can't just pop over.
The insurance company has just piped up that we are covered to use a Property Reinstatement company who will handle the whole refurbishment, apart from new furniture.
Anyone ever gone down this route? Concerned about quality of work and our lack of control. But then it might all be a lot easier...
