I appreciate nobody knows yet, but I love a little speculation, as However, for people with a 5% deposit do you think that interest rates will stay the same (around 3% at Halifax currently), go up or down?

I’m obviously hoping they go down so the monthly repayments are lower.

I would have thought they will stay the same or go up if anything unfortunately at that LTV rate. 3% is pretty good with a 5% deposit 🙂. Interest rates are very low at the moment.

They can’t really go down. I think the government will move heaven and earth to keep them down.
