Screening for privacy on wrought iron gate

We have a wide gate half way along our garden. It is at the end of an alley from a main road. People come and stare into the garden- sometimes even when we are in it. Maybe only twice a week that I am aware of, but I am not keen on being a spectacle, plus some of them try to feed the dog.
DH wants to keep the wrought iron as stronger than wood. Any non ugly solutions? I would rather it looks like we are covering for aesthetic reasons than shutting people out. I did wonder about small pots at the base of each gate with climbers in, but don’t think that would be sufficient and may not work in winter. Thank you.

You can get rolls of brushwood or bamboo or even some of the fake ivy screening, there are lots of options.

Screen with envy, but their screens are fairly fixed in size and i don't know if they do bespoke panels.

My aunt had similar situation of people staring at the wrought iron gate in a nice (Edwardian) 6ft brick wall, but it was a bus stop opposite so a pretty permanent viewpoint, could see down the side of the house into the (large) back & side garden. When they had the gates replaced with electric gates, they attached a large wooden panel to each gate that my cousin (she is a bit of an artist) had painted a gravel and grass scene, so to the lay observer, it looks like a sweeping gravel drive to the right and the entrance steps/front door, and a path off to the left down the side of the house bordered by grass verges and a couple of evergreen shrubs/hedging. Pretty much what is there apart from the swing and climbing frame and shed beyond that are actually in the distance. Just very plain and boring, if you glanced at the gate as you passed you probably wouldn't even notice it was a painting.

Ah, so I just need to find an amazing artist! That does sound perfect. I don’t want to draw the eye. Will look up Screen with Envy and also bamboo/brushwood. Thank you! I think it is just lockdown walkers wondering if we are a tiny park or something but it feels a bit intrusive now.
Thank you.
