Adding dormer window to existing loft conversion

I want to add a dormer window to an existing loft conversion (Victorian flat, converted from a house in the 80s).

What would be the rough cost of a medium size window and installation (London)?

I know I'll need to get planning permission too.

Sorry, but why do you need planning permission? I was thinking of doing this, but thought it came under permitted developments?

@kai1981, did you put in a window? I’ve got planning permission but have no idea how much it will cost!
