I need new patio doors

Hello everyone, I've just moved into a bungalow and for the first time ever I've got double glazing. The lounge/conservatory has two outward opening doors. Unfortunately due to Covid I only had a very quick viewing and now I've moved in, I can see the hinges on the two lounge doors are on the outside.

I feel worried about this but don't know where to start looking for replacements, can anyone help please? Not helped seller didn't have any keys for the windows either, apparently she wasn't given any when she purchased in 2012.

Check the outside hinges. We have ours on the outside as usual and you can't remove them without opening the doors.

Also, it should be possible to replace the window locks with new. Not that expensive, they start from about £5 in Screwfix.

Mine are on the outside too - most are, so that the doors can open outwards.
They are perfectly secure - they have a five-point locking system.

As for the key - ask if any of your neighbours have a spare - it's likely they'll fit if the bungalows were built at the same time.

Are there any numbers written on the locks? Sometimes right by the keyhole is a number you can order keys from.

Thank you so much for replying and letting me know your hinges are on the outside too, since my husband died I've got a bit paranoid about living alone and being attacked/burgled.

I'll ask the neighbours if they might have a spare key, I've had a walk down the road and two do have similar windows, otherwise I'll have a close look and see if I can see any numbers.

Virtual glass of wine to you all, I feel a lot happier, I've found this downsizing move really hard :)

You'll be fine, OP. Thanks

If you have a locksmith nearby it might be worth taking a photo of the locks and any number on them. My local locksmith was able to find window keys to fit my window locks (we've managed to lose them 🙄)
