Where to buy Luxury Vinyl Flooring from?

We currently have Vinyl Flooring in the kitchen area of the house we bought. We want to change it. Thinking of getting one with a wooden look. Which brands are good? Anything in particular we should look for? The price difference is quite vast between different companies so will really like recommendations on the company. Thanks a lot.

We used Quick step livyn from Howdens which is made to look like wood. Seems v hardwearing and easy to clean/doesn’t show up the dirt. I don’t think it was that much but was a few years ago so can’t recall.

The floor needs prepping and be properly flat for installation. I think Amtico/Karndean have specialist installers?

I’ve just had some fitted that I bought from discount flooring depot online. I think it’s called endura or something. Really pleased with it anyway, and my floor fitted said the quality was very similar to more expensive brands he’s fitted.

Look at Costco, I think their LVT brand is called Golden Select. It's really hard wearing but good value for money. They seem to have more options available online and will mail you samples. If you don't have Costco membership it's only about £15 for online membership and worth it for the savings you will make. Someone on here recommended it to me.

For anybody thinking about LVT, do your research. 5 minutes on google will show there can be serious health and environmental risks associated with it.

Why does it sit smoking 20 a day in the corner ?

NiceGerbil · 29/03/2021 19:13

Amtico

I've just had flooring laid from best4flooring and am really happy with it.

Polyflor Expona LVT. Commercial grade. Very lovely and cheaper than Karndean and Amtico.

We have polyflor camaro LVT in the bathrooms and really like it. Really easy to lay and not slippy. We got it from some online company called Oakfield flooring ltd and went and picked it up ourselves from a collection point near us to save the delivery fees.

Sorry Oakleigh flooring Ltd

I’d never get luxury vinyl again.. it may have just been our fitter but we had to have the floors screeded which meant you cannot walk on at for hours as it had to be completely flat and then once it was laid the glue they use to stick down the panels oozes through the planks making the joins look grubby as they attract dirt .
Laminate or wood all the way here in future .

Have you thought of Lino? Much more environmentally friendly.

FayleWatersWaters · 30/03/2021 16:02

I had Moduleo LVF in my old house and I was pretty happy with it. It was enduring and didn't really scratch too much in the time we were there (we only stayed in the house another year after having the floor done, so maybe not the best example!). They had lots of styles and we had light greyish wood effect.

Our has no glue. It’s a free floating click system.
