Ideas for modern dining room in 1600’s house?!

It’s driving me crazy!! I like the idea of having a charcoal feature wall but worried it would look dingy as low ceilings. Oak floor and farmhouse table and chairs.
At the minute it’s ‘shabby chic’ look and I really fancy a change but can’t think what to do!
Any ideas would be great. I have spent hours on Pinterest and that hasn’t helped!

Well you could always just for it and see what you think? Its only paint - you could change it if it doesn't work :)

I would imagine if you keep the rest of the room quite light it will be OK, you could also repaint thr ceiling with white paint that has a sheen to reflect light.

@TaraR2020
Thanks for your post. Does satin paint work better on ceiling that are low? X

I don't know about works better, but whenever I've painted a dark room I always opt for paint with a sheen, not necessarily satin, so that it reflects the light. Mirrors also help of course and if you have the budget for more of an overhaul, look to your lighting - lamps, lamps, lamps!
