Maybe they’re downsizing now the kids have grown up.

That house is gorgeous

folloyourarro · 29/03/2021 12:39

It's a nice house but holy fuck 1.7 million, I like my house so much more and it cost £350,000. I can't imagine liking any location enough to want to pay that kind of money for a relatively standard terrace.

PinkTinsel99 · 29/03/2021 12:39

I’d definitely want a downstairs loo for that price tho’.

Not bad for a teacher and part time administrator.

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 29/03/2021 12:41

My first thoughts were the garden is tiny and it has the Mumsnet favourite, the inflatable hot tub.

House is lovely. The 10% deposit Is more than my whole house is worth.

moochingtothepub · 29/03/2021 12:43

It's tiny for the price! Can't believe anyone would pay that much without even being detached

jendifer · 29/03/2021 12:43

I read somewhere they had both that house and the one next door. Can’t remember why- stay in one as a social space and film in the other?

PinkTinsel99 · 29/03/2021 12:46

To be fair it looks like the price is in line with others in the area so I don’t think it’s been overpriced.

See, now I’ve clearly lived in the SE for far too long, because my first thoughts were ‘oooh that’s a lot of house for 1.7mil’ 🙁
Myopinionrules · 29/03/2021 12:55

Sorry....who are the brockmans?

Antiqueanniesmagiclanternshow · 29/03/2021 13:00

Thee family in outnumbered. This was their house.

krustykittens · 29/03/2021 13:16

sigh that is lovely. We have a fabulous life in the country but I miss elegant city living. London prices are horrendous, though.

PinkTinsel99 · 29/03/2021 13:37

Ahh, I missed the hot tub. That’s me out of the bidding then (nothing to do with my lack of 2 million).

Hedge needs a trim!

sausagedogststandupandtakeover · 29/03/2021 18:56

What a beautiful house. TV shows about London families (unless they are based on "gritty" estates ) are always completely unrealistic about the kind of home people would live in. Even back when it was made, I highly doubt a teacher and administrator could have afforded this!

They must have had (a lot of) family help. A nice house but blimey the cost
jendifer · 29/03/2021 19:29

I always imagined Sue had a different job pre children.

greengrey · 29/03/2021 19:34

When I see how little house you get for that extortionate price I can understand why there are so many Londoners relocating to the area I live in when for that you can buy a mansion.

2018SoFarSoGreat · 29/03/2021 19:38

I love that house, but the pictures of the poorly made beds makes my teeth itch. Why? Why not just smooth out the wrinkles and fix the pillowcases?

Otherwise, lovely house.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 29/03/2021 19:47

I didn’t realise that was the real inside of the house! I thought inside was a studio set. Wow. Even has the plate rack on the wall.

thatsgotit · 29/03/2021 19:52

I wouldn't buy that, there's always a car alarm going off somewhere. Grin

PinkTinsel99 · 29/03/2021 21:40

Great article @MNWorldisCrazy
Don’t think I would have fancied having film crews in for seven weeks a year but if it paid the mortgage...
