Sound insulation - between floors

We are hoping to start a major renovation of our house - terrace in London. See other thread re basement!

I’ve been looking into applying sound proofing to party wall (which we will do). But has anyone tried to put sound proofing in floors? Our kids are quite small (youngest 5) and when we have a dinner party - his bedroom is right underneath where we eat. However - just not sure how good it would be and if it would make any difference...

I put soundproofing between floors as my son plated drums and my daughters room was above. It helped, but didn't stop the noise completely or anything.

Rockwool type insulation between the floors, A double layer of 12.5mm plasterboard on the ceilings ( 2x15mm is better) and top quality underlay and carpet, all of these will help.

If the floor is up, or the ceiling down, I would definitely do it. But screwing down squeaky floorboards and adding decent underlay (whether under wood or carpet) will make the biggest difference.

We have sound proofing between the floors. To be honest I don't think it makes a huge difference considering what it cost.
