Cleaning Up Building Dust/After Plastering

Please help me. I cleaned the floors from 11am-6pm yesterday and there is still fine dust from rewire/plastering everywhere that will not budge.

I’ve chipped off the big chunks with a scraper and used a wire brush on thicker bits. My mop heads are ruined. The Henry hoover we are using for the building works doesn’t seem to be picking it up. I’ve even used an old Vax steam mop. It looks clean when wet, but the dust is still there when it dries.

Are there any products or methods that will work quickly? I can’t stand it and the dust giving me a terrible cough.

How long ago was it plastered? It's very fine dust and will keep settling for a while.

A bit of oil (veg is fine, or olive oil) in the mop bucket helps. Saying that it'll be a good few mops worth and as pp said the dust will continue to settle, probably for a couple of weeks. I'd wait a bit and then do the oil mops.
