Is Emerald Sofa too...old?

Is Emerald Sofa too old-fashioned? Really always wanted luxurious sofa. Chose Velvet Emerald Green, but now thinking maybe, it's too 2016? Will be re-decorating, but I am thinking keeping light grey walls. What do people think? Room is quite small and is semi-open with the kitchen, so can not have 1 'accent' wall (which I hate, anyway).

If you love it who cares? This is Tricia Guild's London livingroom - it's gorgeous and not at all old fashioned!

That's gorgeous is love that!

You can't update your sofa every year to meet trend - I'd buy what I liked and to hell with fashion!

What greengrey said. Buy what you like, ignore fashions & trends!

Maybe avoid pairing it with brass & powder pink to avoid being truly "dated"

I would love an emerald green sofa.

WovenFish · 26/03/2021 15:47

I think you only need to ask yourself one question. Do you like it?

idontlikealdi · 26/03/2021 15:48

Love the sofa a lot more than grey walls!

AcornAutumn · 26/03/2021 15:52

Too 2016?

Mine is about 25 years old. If you'd like to buy a sofa and have all the fun of choosing it etc, I'll happily say yes.

YarnSquirrel · 26/03/2021 16:18

go for it! totally biased here i just loooooove emerald green and i think it will look really luxurious - get a nice lush leafy plant in your living room to go with it!

If having doubts maybe pair with neutral sofa's. So the emerald green sofa is the 'feature'.

If put together well, a room with a green sofa is gorgeous. As pp said, the sofa should be the star of the show against a neutral palate, and compliment it by adding various complimentary green touches around the room. Some blue or purple splashes of colour/accents mixed in would look lovely, too

I have an emerald green velvet sofa in my garden room . I love it and I don't care about fashion.
