Mother and Baby Temporary Housing

Hi, does anyone have any experience with being in a mother and baby unit for homeless young mothers? I’m already on the housing register etc but am looking at being placed in one of these due to having to leave where I live 2 days after my date (10/04)! I’m just after a rough idea of how long I may be here (says up to a year but not sure if I’ll have to stay this long). Thankyou :)

How long you are there will vary council to council
I know my council (Manchester) will try to get you out sooner and move you to another form of temporary accommodation such as a flat or small house. But the locations here are somewhat out of your control.

You might get more response in chat. I think you can report your post and ask for it to be moved.

My mum worked at a unit quite a few years ago. As far as I remember most people stayed around a year but it did depend on individual circumstances such as how much support was needed.
