Adding glass splashbacks later?

About to get a new kitchen put in. I'd really like glass splashbacks throughout but it's adding a lot to the cost. Could I just paint (durablr kitchen paint) above the worktops for now and get them added in 6 months or so? Is there any reason they have to be added at the same time as the rest of the installation?

If not, should I still look at a temporary splashback for now for behind the induction hob or could I do without for a while?

Glass splashbacks are about £80 if you buy online rather than from your kitchen supplier. May not be possible if you have a gas hob.

No reason not to wait.

We got ours from local glass supplier, price was cheap as chips. Shop around!!

We installed one well after our kitchen was installed. Had it behind a gas stove too, no issues. We did use a specialist company- wasn't cheap, but we wanted a specific colour and they came recommended to us.

Don't get talked into adding it on by the supplier if it suits you better to wait a bit. Installation was zero hassle as well.

We had a huge glass splash back installed after our jochen was done. Ours was back painted to match. The company came out and measured etc and it was no hassle at all x

Kitchen was done then glass by a separate glass company.

We bought our glass splashback separately from a local company too. Once the cabinets were in they came and measured up and made a template, then the glass was fitted about 3 weeks later.

Great thanks. I want full splashbacks ultimately (e.g. not just the hob) but great to know I could wait in the meantime.

We had ours done later behind the hob and a whole counter as we couldn’t decide which colour to have (and settled on the bold choice of white 😀). There’s no reason to get it done straight away.
