Finding a property to rent

Hi! I'm looking for some advice. My best friend and her little daughter are looking for a two-bed property to rent from mid-April in the Barnes/East Sheen/Mortlake/Richmond/Putney area. They had a place lined up and it's just fallen through and my friend is panicking, so I'm trying to help her out.

Does anyone know of any online communities - here or Facebook, for example - where I could post to see if anyone has a suitable property to rent to her in that sort of area - or might know of one coming up soon? Obviously she's scouring RightMove, Zoopla, etc, but just wondering if there are other places she/we could look.

Any ideas would be really welcome.

wherever the place comes from (and most are now on the main sites) she needs to make sure she doesn't rent a dump from a crook. She needs to read the how to rent guide on gov.uk and be aware of her rights.

there is a shortage as legislation change and the current free-housing-for-tenants policy is pushing many landlords out. This leaves an open field for the crooks who prey on ill-informed renters. Be careful. The London area has always been a rental warzone anyway.
