Potential stupid question about roller blinds...

So I live in rented and have IKEA roller blinds up. I want to change them. If you buy the same size, are the fittings universal?? Or would I have to take down the brackets and drill in new ones?

you can probably swap IKEA for another from IKEA, but not for a different brand.

you might be able to install a different fabric using the existing fittings but it might be hard to put the original back afterwards.

Thanks I had a look but IKEA now do a completely different blind Sad

So as you have to drill into the UPVc (these blinds are) does this mean people never change their roller blinds? I don’t seen how you could be drilling in more than once?

I've never had IKEA blinds but yes the fittings usually work with them all. I suspect IKEA don't use the same fittings as everyone else though...

@KittyWoods ok thanks

Can someone have a look at these pictures and see if they are ‘universal’?

that fitting looks pretty standard to me, but it is only in with one single screw so it's not exactly a hardship to take down and replace.
And you could probably reuse that hole...slightly fatter screw and maybe a plug or filler.

Main issue ime is that if the fabric is thicker the wretched blind never wants to roll up properly

you can get non drill blinds too...they have an adjustable L-shaped bracket that clips over the top edge of the opening part of the window. I have those in a blackout material and they are great as they are virtually flush with the glass so very little light gets around the edge.

just search no drill blinds on amazOn ...mine are the basic range and I would order them again if necessary.
