Nice areas to move to in north yorkshire and surrounding areas?

Hi, me my mum and 2 year old son are looking to move to north yorkshire and surrounding areas. We are looking at more rural/ scenic areas .
Can anyone help with advice or areas to move to?

A few areas we have in mind is durham, Cleveland and doncaster (bawtry).

Any advice on areas greatly appreciated.

Bawtry is nowhere near North Yorkshire

none of those places are in North Yorkshire, Durham and cleveland are the next counties going north and Bawtry / Doncaster are South Yorkshire
Skipton and ossett are nice in North Yorkshire as are York and
Harrogate / Knaresborough though they are more expensive

Isn't Osset in West Yorkshire?

Do you just need to be near North Yorkshire then but not in it? 3 bed? What is your budget?

I did put surrounding areas also. Anywhere in north yorkshire or doncaster or scenic areas arround the northern part of the map.

That's a huge area. Scenic and 170 you are probably looking at County Durham , the old mining areas are still often very depressed

I think you need more clarity on your needs .. scenic for example do you mean really rural and so very remote or do you mean close to scenic but practical for a young family ? What kind of work?

If it helps we've just bought a house in Auckley (next 'village' to Bawtry) for £170 for a 3 bed.

One thing to be cautious with... Bawtry is very close to the County border. Doncaster has fixed priority admissions areas for schools. So check the school when looking at the house... There's a street checker on the council website to see what admissions area you are in... And over the border into Nottinghamshire will be different schools.

Stokesley and Great Ayton in thr Cleveland Hills are nice and in North Yorkshire!!

I'm overjoyed that Ossett (definitely West Yorkshire) has just been described as 'rural and scenic'
