Bathroom lighting - spotlights?

What sort of lighting does everyone have/like in a bathroom?

I was wondering if spotlights might be nicer than an enclosed ceiling light.

I'm planning a backlit mirror so that would give some additional lighting too.

When we refurbed our bathroom a few months ago, we put in Luceco spotlights and illuminated mirror with demista pad from HiB. Very happy with the set up. Using just the mirror light is handy in the middle of the night if you don't want to be zapped fully awake by the bright ceiling lights.

We have them with a dimmer installed as the fitter stupidly put one right above the head end of the bath. It was awful having a relaxing bath under the spotlight! The dimmer helps

I was about to say the same as @tryingtocatchthewind - very bright and a pain when you're in the bath
I'm getting a dimmer switch fitted - glad it's helps @tryingtocatchthewind - may also get a camping light or similar to use when in the bath 🛀 so it's not so bright

Dimmer sounds like nice option. Just bear in mind that if you currently have an extractor fan wired into the light switch and decide to go for a dimmer, you would have to create a separate switch for the fan as it won't work on a dimmer.
