Hitchin or Harpenden

Hi,
Which town would you choose and why? We have a budget of £1m. Both have outstanding rated schools and are fast commute to London. We’d save abit if we lived in Hitchin house price wise. What are the benefits and disadvantages of each town?

Harpenden,IMO. Villagey feel,nice shops,good countryside,excellent transport
If you like villages look at Much Hadham too

Hitchin is also v nice just not as charming as Harpenden
Bit more urban and mixed
Trains to king x and Cambridge

Agree with above. Hitchin is nice but Harpenden is nicer. Although you will get far more for your money in Hitchin.

Harpenden- I grew up there. Lovely feel, amazing schools and a lovely feel.
