Wimborne Minster

Thinking of moving closer to the South Coast towards Bournemouth, can anyone tell me what Wimborne Minster is like? We have 2 x DD of primary school age so schools through to secondary are important. We live in a city at the moment and enjoy all the amenities so we don't want to go too rural but looking for a small town with a community feel to it. Anywhere else in the region that can be recommended? We are very familiar with Christchurch and like it there but our budget doesn't go very far so no really an option for us, but something along those lines.

Can't help but a little bump as this is also on our potential 'relocate to' long-list.

Wimborne town centre is lovely but there has been massive redevelopment going on with hundreds of new houses being built without the infrastructure to cope. The market has been sold off for a retirement village, the bus to Bournemouth goes every 30min or hourly on Sundays and evenings. Poole buses are more frequent. There is a Waitrose and co op and smaller independent shops. The Wimborne Square is semi pedestrian and there are many coffee shops and cafe. Lots of pubs, a theatre that is also the cinema. It has changed, there is quite a bit of petty unsocial behaviour atm. There are plenty of schools but teens can find it a bit boring. There is not much work, would you be looking for jobs. There is usually a folk festival every year but not atm. The Minster is a lovely place, very peaceful. There is a local hospital. Whats your budget, have you looked on Rightmove, we could tell you what certain roads are like. Its as expensive as Christchurch.
Ferndown has a large school and sports centre.
Wimborne is a good hours bus journey to Bournemouth.

There is local flooding so do look up the flood risk if you see any houses, there have been a lot of new riverside housing built.
