We are thinking of moving here from the NW to be nearer family. We would need 3 bedrooms. Is a budget of £425,000 maximum realistic for this in a decent area. Whitstable is an option too.

Not unreasonable, no, would recommend going some thorough searching though. There are some lovely smaller locations like Bridge, Chatham, Chilham that are more expensive but absolutely gorgeous and perfect for families. Whitstable is really nice, as are some parts of Broadstairs. Have you thought about going further south, places like Deal and Kingsdown are by the sea and are great communities, also in the catchment for better schools (if you have DC).

Thank you so much. Only one left at home now - 12 years old.
I will look at Deal and Kingsdown too. We’re hoping to get there for a visit early summer.

Hi everyone,
We are looking to relocate to Canterbury and would like a bit of advice on areas and roads to look at and ones to avoid 🙈 We have heard the New/Old Dover roads are nice?? We would like to be near the town but not where all the students are. We are also interested in villages but I was wondering how locals feel about outsiders moving into villages and how parents are with children starting mid school years?
Thank you so much for any help and advice.
Lucy
