Hi all
We put our application through on Weds evening, just wondering if anyone else has recently gone through HSBC and how long they had to wait?

Submitted Friday, offer Monday. Offer had an error on it through so had to be changed and that took another few days. It was impressively fast!

It took me 5 weeks exactly in July 2020 (from the point the broker submitted my application to me receiving the T&Cs and mortgage offer), there were apparently a backlog of mortgage applications at the time hence a delay. If you have all your support in docs in order and a standard credit history it may be quicker. I know the typical timeframe for HSBC mortgage application / remortgage is 4-6 weeks, whilst other lenders (RBS, Natwest, Lloyds) are slightly quickest.

It took us 7 days for the full offer a few weeks ago. But.. we did have to keep nudging them as their system fell over a couple of times.

Ours was approved next working day, submitted via a broker

Thanks all, got the news yesterday from our broker that ours has been approved! Smile Just waiting for something in writing now...
Did you get an email or a letter in the post?

We had lots of letters in the post.

Wow that's amazing! What a relief. Nationwide have told us to expect 4-6 weeks!

overwork · 24/03/2021 16:33

They lied, application went in Saturday and was approved today Grin

BilboBagginsoftheShire · 25/03/2021 22:15

Cheeky sods! Lucky for them you were approved! Why would they lie?

overwork · 25/03/2021 22:42

Haha, well, lie might be a bit strong. The chap said they are saying 4-6 weeks because it can take that long in some cases. We were lucky - and I'm very relieved!

BilboBagginsoftheShire · 25/03/2021 23:52

For some reason I thought you were the OP who put hers in on Wednesday, so I thought they lied about putting it in and only actually did it on Saturday!

BilboBagginsoftheShire · 25/03/2021 23:53

Ours went in with nationwide today but is an auction property so not holding out much hope. We might not be able to bid Sad
