Paint rollers - which is best for emulsion?

I had a fairly awful time painting last night with an old roller, it took hours 😔

Can anyone recommend a roller for plain old emulsion paint. I am happy to pay some decent money if it makes the job easier! Bonus points if it is in stock at my local screw fix 😃

We have Harris ones I think

You need a roller with a short to medium pile. Don't use a foam one.
Screwfix do a Harris roller for about £4.00.

The Harris ones are good.

I have some shorter American ones as I can't manage a full length roller. Draper? Not going to rummage to find out :o

i’ve recently painted my bedroom having discovered wilko’s own paint (that stuff is amazing) and suprisingly their £1.75 big roller was a million times better than the expensive one I had bought in B&QGrin

Thank you all! We had a Harris one, it was rubbish, but also old so maybe that was the problem. Ended up with one of these:

It was great! And I made a friend at the local Brewers which is going to be super useful! Thanks all!
