Saved up some money and planning on doing the living room. New sofas new furniture ect. No clue where to start. Removing the fireplace too.
Should I leave the wood or paint it?

Lovely big room! Could you give us an idea of your style? What do you like?

Looks like the wood is a bit shiny and orange for your taste. Could you sand it down to remove the varnish and put a lime wash type stain on?

I had a similarly shiny and orange bathroom which I painted all plain white - such a difference. You could go for pale grey instead of white, new sofas and a new lampshade and (bright?) rug and it would look 100 times more up to date.

This blue might work with wood the colour of the table legs/ frames in the picture, plus a neutral sofa (grey?) and blush cushions etc?

Oh thank you thought the thread was dead. I was thinking maybe paint the wood grey and something else on the walls?
