Looking for suggestions on where to move to in North Wales

I've been away so long that I don't want to move right back home and we prefer the countryside rather than somewhere built up so that is home out anyway. I have Welsh family that I visited as a child and always loved those trips to Wales so it feels nice to think of living there. Heart would like to be near the coast (somewhere like Prestatyn but head says somewhere further up would be better for getting to family and for work perhaps as well. Our dilemma is where to look that would suit our little family and tiny budget. We have been looking online at a house in Leeswood that looks nice, it's in the countryside and there is a park nearby that would be great for our little boy, and a community centre that might have things we can get involved in but it's hard to know what a place is like from so far away and with no-one to ask. is anyone able to shed some light on Leeswood? Is there anywhere else in North Wales or nearby that you would suggest taking a look at? Any help would be very welcome x

That was my first ever post (I usual just read) but I somehow chopped off the beginning and don't know how to edit it so this is what it should have said first...

Hi,
I'm originally from the Wirral but moved to Somerset over 20 years ago. My Husbands health is not always that great and we have nearly lost him a few times, after the last time he thought it best if we make the move North to be closer to family. We have no family here and do not have a support network, I work and we have a little boy in primary school so caring for someone you love who is very ill with no support is hard (very difficult to admit).

Sorry the post is split up.

If you want to be on the coast Abergele, old Colwyn, Rhos on sea area is lovely (Rhos on Sea) is the pricier end. I personally would avoid Prestatyn. Also you're right by the A55 with anywhere along there for travelling

I live in Flintshire, not far from the English border, and not far from Leeswood.

Leeswood is not a village I know well, though I've known a few people who live there. It seems a nice little village, though you might want to check out what it's like in the snow (it's up in the hills a bit) and I don't know what the shops are like. Being up in the hills does mean you might get good views across to the Wirral.

There are quite a few nice little villages in the county - you could look at Northop, Hawarden (good secondary school), Nercwys.

If you'd rather live somewhere a bit bigger, Mold is a lovely old county town, plenty of shops and some decent schools.

I agree with freesolo on the coast - it's much nicer further along.

I would also second Mold. Avoid Prestatyn.

Thanks so much for helping out, I wasn't sure if I'd get any answers so I'm really happy. I've now got a jumping off point. X
