Development clause

We are purchasing a house which has a development clause in place which still runs for another 17 years (in place from the owners prior to the people we are buying from.) We have only just found out and are devastated that we weren't informed of this earlier. Should we pull out?

If it's "devastating news" to you, yes pull out. Depends how devastating I suppose. What's the clause exactly?

If this is a devastating issue for you, then I assume you wish to develop then of course pull out.
