Manhole cover in middle of lawn

It's so ugly.

It's also raised slightly and sticks out like a sore thumb. Pots just make it obvious.

Is there anything I can do to disguise it?

Chuck some pots of plants on it. That always helps. Or place your garden table over that area.

Oops. I missed the bit about pots only making it worse

I thought pots would do it but they look silly stuck where it is...

It's the front lawn so table not possible.

Make that area a flower bed and plant shrubs to cover it?
Raise surrounding grass so it is level?
Put a drive in so you car is parked on top of it?

dudsville · 12/03/2021 23:27

I second raising the ground around it, I'd raise it not level but slightly higher.

They look good, thank you. Not convinced the turf would survive but worth considering.

Watto1 · 13/03/2021 10:25

Could you paint it green with some metal paint so it would blend in a bit more?

wonkylegs · 13/03/2021 10:34

My dad has a raised one which is access to the septic tank - he had pots for a while and now has a sculpture on it (access only required about every 5yrs) I was sceptical when he told me but actually it looks great.

That's what we do. Works a treat.
