Cost of new roof?

Wondering if anyone's had their roof done recently. Just had our first estimate, and somewhat shocked at the cost. It's a small cottage, known as 1.5 storey, where the (2) bedrooms are under the eaves with dormer windows. We are looking to have slates removed and replaced with new, with the two old dormer windows removed and replaced with velux. Waiting on two more estimates but would like to know - if you've had your roof done recently, what did it cost?

Small 1/2 roof, lean to house, £8k. Big semi was £30k.

Thanks, was quoted £22k which I thought was a lot!

Get as many quotes as you can, that way you’ll get a better idea

Last year detached 3 bed £1,500 for scaffolding and £6k for roof. Used to have slate now got a composite which looks like slate rather than proper slate. Completely happy with it though.

Someone else in the same road already had it done but that was on a bungalow and we felt it was just as good. I would have been wary otherwise.

Also had a flat roof done at same time with a velux window which was separate and cost us £2.6k. That roof was small.

3 bed terraced, replaced worn slate with composite tiles, looks fine. They also did a bit of work on the guttering. £9.5k including scaffolding.
