How to stick something to brick?

We have an exposed brick wall and need to hang something up (not heavy) to cover up an ugly bit. What can I use? Have already tried command strips which did not work

A nail? Gripfill? What are you hanging?

Masonry drill, rawlplug, screw.
You might get away with some sort of gorilla blu tack if it's just a poster. Gorilla Mounting Putty? Honestly it's a thing.

I recently had the same problem - I covered it with a wall hanging which was a similar material to a sheet and attached it to the brick with about half a pack of white tack.
