Pitshanger Lane or Northfields?

Hey everyone - we’re a young family both working full time in central London with 2 small children and need to move from our flat in Maida Vale for more space

I fell in love with Pitshanger but worry I will regret being so far from the tube/ Crossrail but do the parks / shops make up for it ? Or should I concentrate on Northfields close to the Piccadilly line? Is it as nice of an area? Any thoughts would be really helpful !

Both areas are very nice areas. We live Northfields/Hanwell border and love it. Both primary & secondary schools are brilliant, the high st is great with many options, many parks in the area and good transport links. Pitshanger has a more of a village feel and is very nice too, but we decided on our area because of practicalities, mainly the transport links.

Northfields is also fairly lovely and quite chichi. It comes down to your preference and how much it will inconvenience you to be away from the train & tube.

Ps. I am in Hanwell - less naice but extremely friendly and better value, as well as the Crossrail link.

I grew up in hanwell, worked in pitshanger and lived in Northfields .
Pitshanger is nice but can be a bit poncy and Northfields is a bit of everything but I prefer it. You have the tube, can walk to Ealing for shopping but a lot of traffic calming measures which are a pain!

I grew up five minutes away from Pitshanger and it’s lovely. You’ve got the park and Scotch Common, plenty of buses to get you to the Broadway. Lots of good schools near by. Northfields is lovely in parts but Pitshanger absolutely gets my vote.
