Ceramic patterned tiles on a patio?

We are to have our garden landscaped and I want a small patio with pergola away from the main patio.
I've seen some lovely examples on Instagram where they have tiled the base with patterned tiles - the type you'd have in a kitchen or hallway.
They look lovely but I wonder how well they would wear? Don't want to be doing it again in a few years!

I can imagine if they are built for a kitchen floor they'd be fine on a patio....id check weather proofing. They are stunning.

Are you sure they're tiles and not an outdoor rug?

HamCob · 06/03/2021 13:14

That pic is just an example but yes, definitely tiles though I have seen similar rugs.

Wouldn't ceramic be terribly slippery once wet?

Notthecarwashagain · 06/03/2021 13:47

You can get outdoor ones some here

I think it looks lovely!

Ooh great idea! We’ve got a mossy outdoor carpet but I love tiles!

teentipans · 06/03/2021 14:23

I had a family member who had some & they weren't particular robust however this was yrs ago. I love the look but went with a good plain patio tile & got a big rug from maison du monde. I was worried I would get bored of it (am bored of bathroom floors like this) however if you love it go for it.

What about these from ikea - you could easily take them up if you fancied a change.

There is a rug on very or way fair that is very similar to this and it's £56

Lovely, a billion times better than manky concrete or decking. I'd worry about slipperiness when wet though.

Hmm, I think you're right. I'm a sucker for trends and would possibly get bored. I'm worried I'd forget to bring the rug in at night or when it rained Blush Are they fairly robust?
