Furniture/Garden Furniture - ridiculously long delivery times

Hello, I'm probably being really thick but does anyone know why furniture (particularly garden furniture) has such long delivery times?

Is it all down to changes in supply chains/at the border? Or because where this stuff is being produced?

There is garden sofa on Made.com for example that I'd really like but the delivery time is 18-21 weeks - basically 6 months! Summer will be over by then!

I'm ashamed to say that I'm not up to date with current affairs so apologies if it's a really obvious answer.

Often passenger aircraft contain some freight in the hold as well. Because of the collapse in overseas travel a lot fewer planes are flying, thus increasing the cost for air freight. This means more has to travel by ship taking longer particularly non-perishable items .

I ordered a greenhouse last September which wasn't due to be delivered until April. It was actually delivered end of Jan which was a nice surprise. A lot of it I think was due to how many were being ordered and the fact they just didn't have the staff to make the items.
Also, as a lot of people have actually been home more than normal, especially during the nice weather last spring during the lockdown, I imagine a lot of people were using their gardens more so wanted nicer/more comfy furniture.

Hi, there are apparently supply issues in the Far East that are COVID related.

Try Chimes Home and Garden - I used them recently and they said they have a lot warehouse space so can hold more stock than a lot of companies. Got garden furniture two days after ordering.

If you look on Beliani they say very clearly which items are in stock and what date they expect the others - in case that helps.

Some I think are covering their backs incase

We ordered lots of new furniture after Xmas. Most gave a 4 month estimate delivery. At least half has already arrived.

I recently bought some garden furniture from out and out, it says what is in stock and dispatched very quickly.
