Has anyone been in this situation? What did you do? I've tried everything but my bank don't seem to be able to find anyone to help. It is annoying as pushing completion back.

A closing statement should be enough, your bank should be able to do this the day after it’s closed. Are you with HSBC by chance?

No, I'm with natwest. I am absolutely furious with them because I have tried online chat, ringing them, been in 2 stores, checked my online banking mail, supposed to be completing on Friday and no one seems to know where to access a letter for me. I've cried, a lot. My solicitor said a statement won't be accepted grr. It literally has rbe money on there and a summary saying account closed. I'm really stressed.

I will email my solicitor again. Thank you for your reply. I really appreciate it.

I work for a bank..not Natwest though..and we're able to go into statements sent to the customer and print it from there. I don't understand why they can't. We can access it about 48 hours after a Help to Buy ISA is closed, it also gets sent out in the post and takes about 7 days to come out in the post (which is why we tell customers to come back into branch after 48 hours so they get it quicker!)

Thanks @mummatoI I'm going to try again today but they couldn't do much yesterday. I'm worried it has got lost. I closed it 2 weeks ago, had a statement through last Friday but not closing letter. I'm not sure what else to try to be honest. I don't really want to miss out on the bonus either as it is a good amount.

Another bank I've worked in we were allowed to produce a letter. See if the solicitor will accept that. We literally just used to write the account number as a heading and then "the above isa was closed on ....... the closing balance at this time was £xxx" then printed on headed paper and they used to accept this signed by a member of staff and a branch stamp on it. I haven't had to do one for a while as our systems seem to work now for closure letters but this was what used to work when it didn't!! Hope you get it sorted though!

@mummatoI thank you so much for this. I'm going to give it a go this morning as soon as they open! It is definitely worth a shot, right?!

@Lubiluxe 110%! Solicitors will be well practiced for things like this. There's 100% other things they can take. They just need proof of the closing balance! 🤞 for you!
