You could get a new build in REdcar

StealthPolarBear · 05/11/2007 17:08

Redcar would be very far, unless you'd be willing to commute?
Sorry, am highjacking this thread as well
How about villages around Spennymoor?

StealthPolarBear · 05/11/2007 17:14

Lanchester is a very nice medium sized village, good school as far as I know.

tortoiseSHELL · 05/11/2007 17:15

I would live in Wolsingham.

StealthPolarBear · 05/11/2007 17:17

ooh yes wolsingham is a good choice

StealthPolarBear · 05/11/2007 17:20

Or Sedgefield

auntiebetty · 05/11/2007 17:32

I have recently moved from the south east to Crook. My daughter has started at the local school which got an outstanding ofsted report and is settling in nicely.

Crook has a nice feel to it, not too big and not too small. We live within walking distance of the town, so near to the shops, the library, the swimming baths, toddler groups etc.

You will easily be able to get a nice size house for the budget you have.

I dont know much about any other areas around here I'm afraid.

Slouchy · 07/11/2007 16:24

Corook mum- My cousin lives in Crook (moved from Midlands) and loves it.Obviously a great village and v welcoming.

inamuckingfuddle · 14/11/2007 19:52

I live in Sedgefield, v nice village and decent schools, not sure what's available for 160000 though. Good transport links too, right next to A1

inamuckingfuddle · 14/11/2007 19:53
