Wall mounted tumble dryer

Trying to plan new utility and want to save space by mounting tumble dryer over washing machine. Unfortunately they aren’t compatible, the mounting kits won’t work as washing machine is rounded not square.

Could we wall mount the washing machine or build a shelf over the washing machine? Any ideas?

Are you in the uk? What do you mean by the WM is rounded? I’ve always stacked my TD on top of the WM in an adapted kitchen cupboard housing without any kit tbh. Never had an issue. Theoretically you could use a shelf but it’d have to be exceptionally strong to take the weight plus the vibration of the machine. Could you not stack the WM on top of the TD?

Used to have my dryer stood on worktop theres not a lot of weight in them

The dryer won't be as heavy as the washing machine
Could you sell your machine and buy one that's capable of a stacking kit

We had utility with washer under counter and then dryer above it on worktop which worked fine

Could sell the machine but it’s quite new, was expensive and we like it.

It’s got a curved top at the edge so a kit won’t fit. Just watched an espares video on it. www.espares.co.uk/advice/careandmaintenance/how-to-use-washing-machine-and-tumble-dryer-stacking-kits

We didn’t use a kit for ours. There’s a piece of wood on top of the washing machine, then the tumble dryer is stood on top of that. We bought a couple of metal brackets and used them to attach the tumble dryer to the wall.

You can buy wall hung mini tumble dryers. They are quite common in other countries ( Teresa has one in neighbours ) they are about two thirds the size than a normal one.

I'll see if I can find a link

I know this as my friend had one in her family bathroom ( to dry towels I assume ?)

@Dotinthecity I think we’ll do something similar....ta.

My dryer is over the boiler but it is in an open sturdy cupboard split into two that houses them both and looks neat . Room for a useful shelf above too

Mine is on a shelf with the washing machine underneath. Been there 10 years with no problems (although shelf was put in by a proper builder - I doubt anything we would have done ourselves would have survived this long!)
