Can I contact vendors?

Stupid question really, had an offer accepted on a property (YAY!)

Been to see it a couple of times and the sellers are moving into rented (relevant!))

All comms so far been through EA, but I'd love to talk to the sellers directly and ask questions/and see if they'd be interested to sell some of their furniture (save them storing it!)

How would you feel if your buyer contacted you directly? Would a card suffice saying "Hi! I'm OSH, am buying your property, here's my tel/email, I'd love to talk to you?!"

Am I overthinking this? Am so excited!

And would EA be annoyed?

Gargh! Did I mention I'm excited 😂😂

Not really the done thing. I'd find it intrusive. Just ask your EA to talk to their EA to find out the answers to your questions.

My last buyers arranged another viewing and got the EA to ask if it would be ok for one of us to be around so they could ask some questions while there maybe try that

You can ask them questions like that through your solicitor. Once you start developing a personal relationship with sellers things can get awkward if, for example, something happens to sour the relationship. Plus I wouldn’t want eager buyers to have my contact details and then risk them hassling me about things.

Oh god, please don't harrass the vendors. Just go through your EA, that's their job!

I would be annoyed and say to EA I want no direct contact.

I appreciate your excitement but nothing you want to ask that couldn't be put in an email to be forwarded by EA and vendors' response directed back through EA.

Thanks! Understand completely, thank you!

Was not looking to be best buddies with them, just hoping to get things moving quicker!

I'll email the questions through EA

No, it's not the done thing at all.
