Need some advice on patio stone

Currently deciding what stone we would like on our new patio and I'm stuck between limestone and sandstone!
What is the difference? Which one is going to look shit quicker? I like sandstone but don't like the riven texture and the smooth is a lot more expensive!! But then limestone has a more rough texture all over? Gah! Keep going back and forth
Anyone got both and can advise??
Thanks !

Have you considered porcelain? It's non-porous so should not stain or have lichens grow on it, so easy to maintain. However it will be slightly more expensive than limestone or sandstone

Limestone. It’s a far more durable stone. Sandstone is porous and more prone to staining and it needs cleaning a bit too much! Porcelain for external use is a good shout. So many options now but make sure it’s non slip. Our limestone looks way better than the sandstone we have.

Would love porcelain but just can't stretch the budget unfortunately!
See this is where I'm confused as reading conflicting things about limestone, I was lead to believe it's more prone to going Green etc?

No. Not really. Proper limestone might need a blast with a cleaner every so often but ours is still perfect. The sandstone isn’t. Limestone isn’t cheaper than porcelain. Not much different. Limestone is sometimes called York Stone and is a far better product. Don’t buy cheap imitations.

Just an update, we've gone with the limestone! Looked so much better when comparing to the sandstone. Also it was much cheaper than porcelain where we purchased from
Thanks for advice
