Protecting garden furniture

Do you cover your rattan furniture and cushions in poor weather? Our rattan dining set hasn't deteriorated at all in 4 years outside with no protection, although I do pop the cushions away. I have a corner sofa set I want to put up this weekend but don't have any covers for it yet, just wondering if I should wait and leave it in the garage for the weather to improve or until the cover is back in stock. Just curious about other people's experiences!

Mine has been outside for 8 years unprotected and is only just beginning showing wear at the side facing the sun. Cushions though do need to be brought inside or under cover.

I’ve always put garden furniture/ bbq away in the worst of winter but if you don’t have storage space I’d get covers for them.

My next door neighbours leave the large parasol out all year ( they wind it down ) but it’s really faded now. They have a large shed so I’m not sure why they don’t put it in there over winter 🤷🏼‍♀️
