The previous thread ran for about 10 weeks and in ordinary (non-stamp duty holiday) times, that's long enough to get a transaction through, so let's hope this thread sees lots of people finish!

We have exchanged with our buyer but not yet with our vendor. So we can’t celebrate until we’ve exchanged with our vendor!! And then completion happens.

@NoWordForFluffy we exchanged with our buyer at 11am. Do you think we ought to be exchanging with our vendor soon?? I’m trying to be ever so patient x

I'm not sure how they'd do it as I don't do conveyancing. If it's meant to be simultaneously then they may wait til they have your buyer's funds, then ring, exchange, send funds.

Aarghh @Badgerbadger22, just reading about your saga - that has to be the most nerve-wracking situation you could possibly be in.

We have a very civilised 3 weeks between exchange and completion and even that feels like a lot, but doing it all simultaneously seems like madness. Fingers tightly crossed for you!

Our exchange / completion has failed. All our stuff in the van and we have to unpack

Oh no what happened badger?

Badger the same thing happened to us our exchange never happened on the Friday three weeks ago. All packed and had to put the movers off. We ended up completing the following Tuesday and moved the day after. It took too long for our buyers solicitors to respond and missed the deadline. Hopefully it will get sorted early next week and you will be in your new house by next weekend. It was a pain juggling work around but it seems like a distant memory once you are in .

So sorry. This house moving malarkey is just fucking ridiculous. The whole thing. I feel so flat.
Missed out on another house this week that someone virtually said they didn't give a shiny Re 'best and final' they'd gazump. Fuckers.
We sold 6 months ago and the market is dead.
Half packed, moving into rented in a week so our sale can proceed, then today, buyers buyer has had mortgage deal pulled.

It's so hard. I've emotionally moved into 3 houses. This last one we had over full asking in the table for two weeks before gazumping bastard came along. Vendors didn't care we were cash and went with him.

Oh god @Badgerbadger22 that it absolute shite. It's so bloody stressful.

We exchanged and completed! Couldn’t believe it. Was in tears and then our solicitor rang and said we’ve exchanged and funds have already arrived! Literally ran out the door and drove off!! It was SO weird. I’ll never forget it!

Even the solicitors involved were shocked! I’m now sitting on my sofa listening to birds waiting for pizza!
