Has any one put in triple glazing to mitigate traffic and aeroplane noise? Was it effective?

Double glazes but with acoustic glass works very well.

We have triple glazing in our bedroom, we live on a residential street and can still hear cars coming and going. I think in hindsight we'd have been better off checking acoustic options.

Thanks Lolly I will have to look into that. I am interested for my bedroom as traffic and plane noise is disturbing me. Did you find it made a big difference?

Thanks Megafish. I read somewhere that triple glazing can make it worse! It is an expensive mistake to make and difficult to get accurate information.

we had triple glazing put in a previous house as we were backing onto a train line.
it was very effective for the noise and also for insulating the room (large windows)
