Cost of a small porch

Does anyone have a ballpark figure for a small brick built porch on a 1930s terrace? Under 3m so planning permission not required. I’ve been told they can be quite expensive as they are almost mini extensions with foundations etc.

If anyone else has had one built recently what did it cost? I don’t want to get quotes in unless I can afford the ballpark figure. Thanks!

We are thinking of putting up a small porch and are guesstimating 6-7,000. Haven't had any quotes yet though.

Sort of a catch 22 there, how can you know if you can afford it unless you get some local quotes?

I know, it probably doesn’t make any sense! it’s just that if people say they are 8k with the new door, foundations and everything then that won’t be worthwhile for such a tiny porch, and I won’t even pick the phone up and get anyone out. 4-5k maybe I will.
