We're moving from London to Sussex. Does anyone know if it makes a difference where the movers are based?

Been looking into this myself in the past couple of weeks and the moving companies prefer the starting address to be the one that's local to them. We're looking for the opposite because we need storage as well as moving and want the storage to be in the area we're relocating to. And we're not even moving to a different county - yet 2 out of the 4 companies I spoke to had a problem with it!

It makes sense for them to be closer to current address, as there are likely to be several visits - quotation, packing service (if applicable) is usually done the day before, plus the actual move. Also handy in case an additional vehicle or personnel is required at the last minute.

I think it will be easier to get a London movers. They are used to congestion charge parking stairs etc
