We found a house that we live in Openshaw, walking distance from lime square retail. Its one of the houses built in 2018. Surrounding neighborhood looks good, but would really like to know how is the area in general. Thanks.

I wouldn't choose to live there, not very desirable and a lot of crime. But it does depend on what you can afford and what you are used to. Have you visited the area?

Yes, the development is nice, all new house and privately owned. But still in the center of Openshaw
We are hesitant to go for it

I have a close friend who lives near there - Delamere park area. She has never had any trouble and has found it is a lovely community, she's not religious but has met a really nice church group through play group and generally kind and humble people. Good transport links to the city centre and a decent park. That said it's not a 'nice' area if you're looking for trendy cafes and restaurants. Obviously comes down to what you can afford and I wouldn't rule it out. The Moravian settlement and the housing estate near Debdale park are both lovely and walking distance if the budget will stretch.

I wouldn’t. Its really not great...
also I know people in openshaw and Clayton who find match days hellish with parking and traffic.
