Paint colour for hallway?

For entrance hallway.

I'm thinking white, with petrol blue radiators. I'm hoping the white will brighten it up a bit although there is a window as you go up the stairs.

What colour are your hallways please?

we only have a tiny hall the width of the door and straight up to stairs we went for a primrose yellow to brighten it up

Ours is south facing but oddly dark. We got white wallpaper with a pearlescent floral design, quite minimal. It means any light coming in shines off the pattern and makes it look brighter. We also put in a large mirror to further reflect light. In short, my hallway is white. All white. But with interest. (White gloss radiator cover too but I know some people hate this)

We’ve got Dulux Egyptian cotton as I was worried that white would be too cold (and I couldn’t afford f&b skimming stone).
Then I went to my neighbours house which is white and now have major house envy. It looks really fresh and bright.

Ours is white but with blue curtains and blinds. Tempted to put in a navy radiator but have not broken this to DH yet, he still can't cope with my plans to paint the dark stained wood. Our hallways is south facing though, we have 3 good sized windows facing south so it can get very bright in there.

Watching with interest as we have recently had our hall replastered and now waiting for decorator to give us a new date. DH likes the colour of the plaster and wants something similar. I wanted Morris Willow wallpaper but it will cost too much. DH listened to decorator and so we have paid x amount to builder to plaster it and now it is to be painted. Bet it will cost more than the wallpaper that I wanted.
It has no windows and stairs about 2 metres from door.

I think it’s good to embrace the gloom of a hallway and paint it a dark colour - eg petrol blue and dark grey radiators. More practical as paintwork gets scuffed and marked in hallways. Alternatively Dulwich does a fab neutral called ‘chalky downs’. I can’t be doing with white walls unless you’ve got lovely features like Victorian clay tiles or stained glass

We’ve gone with little greene basalt on and under a dado rail with white above and on the skirting boards. I really like it , practical for scuffs too
