Inspiration needed please - utility room

Afternoon!
I'm looking for inspiration for a splash back or tiles in my utility room, we have navy units a grey pull out drawer and grey marble effect laminate surface - I don't mind something a bit funky in there - was thinking a splash back with a picture on (ocean etc) as it's just the utility area and rest of the house is pretty conservative
'Scuse the mess - we're renovating the whole house so it's still being used as the workshop lol 😆

Are you leaving that blank wall empty or planning to put something on it - shelves, a laundry rail etc? If empty, are you looking for the splashback to cover that whole wall?

We’ve just done our utility splashback in penny round tiles and I really like them, they are “utilitarian” which goes with it being a utility room and the circles echo the washing machine they add texture and interest without being too out there.

What about penny round tiles with black or navy grout? Or even mustard yellow grout if you want something funky? A wall of penny round tiles with some wooden shelves going across could look fabulous. Metro or long slim rectangle tiles could also work well.

I would avoid patterned tiles or a picture personally because I think it will clash with your worktop which already has a strong “pattern” to it.

I put blue Victorian style tiles around the lower walls in my utility, and painted the top half denim blue. White glossy cupboards and a stainless steel sink/drainer.

@minipie - not sure yet - we have a drying rack on the wall opposite the sink - but may put some shelves up - think I need inspiration

@AlwaysLatte sounds nice too! My whole house is currently white paint so next job is to chose colour palettes foe the different rooms - big job lol 😆

Here’s ours - but it’s not funky at all! it’s very neutral. I did consider something more funky (was looking at bright green for a while) but decided I wanted to keep everything light and white and calm as there’s no natural light in our utility and it’s a very small room.

Lovely! Albeit it doesn't do much for my holes /clusters phobia lol

😂 yes if you have that then maybe avoid penny tiles!
