Recent Natwest mortgage application

Hi all,

I have my interview with natwest in the morning and I'm so unbelievably nervous. Me and my husband have saved so hard to get another 5% deposit (we were originally saving for a 95% ltv and now have enough for 90% ltv).

Has anyone recently had an interview with natwest for a mortgage and can give me some information on what they ask.

Don't think of it as an interview, it's just an appointment to work out how much they can risk lending to you. They'll need to know precise amounts for your income and all outgoings, any debt you have, and details of your employment situation. Take pay slips and bank statements to help with giving exact figures.

Be prepared for it to be very long if it’s the full application. I’m sure ours was almost three hours. We had already uploaded payslips and current account info and were asked questions about outgoings, lots of qs about whether we’d been affected (employment wise) by covid, how much we felt we could afford to spend each month on the mortgage, why the mortgage we’d chosen was our favoured one, why we were moving. Went on and on but straightforward really

Thank you both for replying, going to have my bank statements in front of us. Luckily we don't really spend much (especially lately with covid lol) and we're really under borrowing by how much we earn. Hope it goes OK
