I'd love honest feedback please! Would you buy this house? If not, why not? www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-88586941.html

Yes, if it was the kind of house I needed in the right location at the right price.

Why not?

reefedsail · 03/02/2021 17:03

Yeah, I reckon I would. Location looks amazing. Not much garden, but I'd be taking my hipflask of wine to the loch shore.

Labobo · 03/02/2021 17:04

I might, if I was looking in that area. Depends whether the price is competitive, as I'd want to make a few changes. Mainly, get rid of the long corridors and open up the two living areas. And I'd want a lawn and proper garden not just a terrace. But the house looks in good condition and the rooms look large and bright. It's on the edge of a built up area, which seems like a good location, near enough to a station.

Are you buying or selling?

emsyj37 · 03/02/2021 17:04

Is it your house?? To be honest unless someone knows the area, it's difficult to say. It doesn't appeal to me particularly, but if it is good value for the location then it will sell. I like a bit of grass in the garden and the kitchen is not my taste. If it was in a fabulous spot then I wouldn't be put off by the cosmetic stuff tho.

Rightgroove · 03/02/2021 17:05

I'm worried that the very small garden is off-putting for a large family home. Would that put people off?

Is it your house or one you're hoping to buy? It's lovely. The only reason I wouldn't buy it is because I'm not planning on relocating. It's a nice size, and in a beautiful place.

FTEngineerM · 03/02/2021 17:07

Tiny garden? Overlooked? I can’t tell which one it is on the satellite map.

Very nice big rooms inside, I really like it, unless that patio is all of the garden?

Didiusfalco · 03/02/2021 17:07

It’s lovely, but I like gardening and that doesn’t really have one so I wouldn’t.

Yup - got it in one! That's my main concern with it. We're looking to buy. Ideally want a detached with a bigger garden but there's nothing coming up at the moment that's more suitable in the area we like

Shehasadiamondinthesky · 03/02/2021 17:09

No but purely because it's too big for me on my own. I love the location though.

QueenZoopla · 03/02/2021 17:10

Looks amazing for that price if that's the area you want. Wouldn't get a tiny 2bed flat for that where we are!

CoronaIsWatching · 03/02/2021 17:11

No, don't like the garden. But the house is very nice. I'm sure you'd fine someone who wasn't fussed about the garden. I'm sure you could make the garden look nicer..some trellis and containers

burritofan · 03/02/2021 17:11

Is it be very very close to the one next door? There’s a photo that suggests they’re quite cheek by jowl.

I wouldn’t but that’s because I want a big garden, and I don’t like bathrooms without windows, or en suites – so too much work. Plenty of people who wouldn’t be bothered by those things, though, when there’s lots of square footage for the price.

CoronaIsWatching · 03/02/2021 17:12

Put a fence up on the left hand side of the garden

isseys4xmastinselcats · 03/02/2021 17:12

yes but i would take those pale cream carpets right out had a house with them in once and i spent most of my time on my hands and knees trying to keep it clean and i have no children at home

FTEngineerM · 03/02/2021 17:14

@Rightgroove sorry cross posted with your one saying there is a small garden.

It depends on what you will need a garden for though, at the minute we want a garden for kids toys/dogs/growing stuff for baby/kids but in a decade or so we’ll want a nice terrace to enjoy a bottle of wine and outside lunch.

It’s a lovely house in a lovely location (by the water) just have a think about what you want to do in the garden.

Chronicallymothering · 03/02/2021 17:15

I'd be wondering if the loft bedroom was a bedroom and whether it had sufficient head clearance height according to regs to be used as a bedroom. Otherwise you'd be overpaying for the number of actual bedrooms that are usable as such

HeartZone · 03/02/2021 17:15

If you want detached then wait for the right one to come up. Always buy the best house you can afford. Rent if necessary, plus this will put you in a great buying position when your ideal house comes up.

Flickoffboris · 03/02/2021 17:15

I'd worry about why it was bought only last year, if assume something is up and would do a lot of digging.
Pleasant enough looking house though.

Bluntness100 · 03/02/2021 17:19

So it’s not your house?

2typesofjungle · 03/02/2021 17:19

It seems like a lot of money for where it is.

Mumblechum0 · 03/02/2021 17:20

No.
Too close to neighbours
No garden to speak of
Cheap looking (plastic windows etc)

It is extremely cheap though

Aiaiaicorona · 03/02/2021 17:29

The house is amazing but the lack of grass/garden would put me off yes.

Saz12 · 03/02/2021 17:40

It’s fine. Garden small, kitchen not my taste but big and could be vastly improved by having more colour /clutter /life to it! Looks like the shared wall is where the stairs are, which is good.

The garden is the real issue. How easy is it to walk to green space? Ie is it a pavement in a 30mph zone or national speed limit road with no pavement?

LynetteScavo · 03/02/2021 17:43

I would be out off by the lack of lawn.
Is that really how much houses are in that area? I'm genuinely surprised, I thought they'd be less.
