Leasehold property - management company not consenting to sale - advice?

A few years ago I asked for permission to change the flooring and it was granted. Now they say they’ve changed the rules so I can’t sell the flat because it’s got the wrong flooring. Is that right? Do I have a leg to stand on? Has anyone had this - can you offer advice? TIA.

What flooring do you have, do you need to put carpet down before you sell. Do you know what the new rules are, they should have let you know .

Thanks for reply. I’ve got laminate down and they want carpet. No apparently they changed it 2 years ago but I’ve had no notification.

Just stick down a cheap carpet! Job done.

I would look at your Lease, I know we had to put carpet down.

This.

Just put it over the laminate.

I discovered layers of flooring in some of my rooms.

Do you have a copy of the permission? Maybe produce that and ask them to foot the bill?

Grin I’m just picturing a really high floor now!

Good idea Realistic.

Thanks everyone.

I suspect that's one of the reasons the kitchen didn't have a door - there was carpet under the lino - and one of my bedrooms had a different door - there were 3 layers of cheap carpet then a layer of newspaper then a layer of lino.

The other rooms and hall had one layer of carpet with underlay so I didn't expect any difference.
